What are PC/ASA Alloys?

PC/ASA (polycarbonate/acrylonitrile styrene acrylic) compounds are the result of alloying PC and ASA amorphous thermoplastics. This gives your project the advantages of polycarbonate’s toughness combined with the UV and moisture resistance of the terpolymer ASA.

They can be provided unfilled or filled with specialized fillers, mineral or fiberglass reinforcement.

PC/ASA compounds are part of the AuroraShield™ family of products and are produced by Enviroplas, an Aurora Material Solutions company.

AuroraShield delivers UV resistance and weatherability throughout the lifecycle of your product. We test UV resistance using QUV and Xenon Arc Accelerated Weathering Tests that are performed utilizing specially designed equipment. The test chamber simulates the effects of moisture and UV sunlight on a polymer over a given period of exposure. The QUV and Xenon Arc testing equipment can provide results in a much shorter period of time than actual outdoor weathering and attempts to replicate what can happen to materials over several months or years in actual outdoor environments.
