STREETSBORO, OH – May 1, 2018 – Aurora Plastics, LLC, a leader in thermoplastic compounds, today announced its plans to acquire assets of JPI South in Pasadena, Texas. As part of this transaction, Aurora Plastics has also entered into a long-term lease for the former JPI site, a strategic location. The move places Aurora Plastics in close proximity to suppliers and enhances the company’s ability to serve customers in the western and southern part of the United States.
“This acquisition further solidifies our leadership position in the thermoplastic compounding industry and provides us with the strategic flexibility to pursue future growth opportunities in the United States and abroad,” said Darrell Hughes, chief executive officer, Aurora Plastics. “Its location in the heart of the PVC industry also puts us in close proximity to our critical supply partners.”
The company plans to invest significant capital to bring state-of-the-art equipment and technology into the facility, creating another world-class PVC blending location. Upgrades will be completed over the next few quarters. Aurora Plastics anticipates that production will begin in the first quarter of 2019 at the Pasadena, TX, facility.
This is the third acquisition that Aurora Plastics has made in the last twelve months, after purchasing companies in Lunenburg, MA (S&E Specialty Polymers), and Marieville, QC (Reinier Plastics).
