Aurora Material Solutions Introduces Weatherable PVC/Acrylic Alloy Capstock

Aurora Material Solutions INTRODUCES WEATHERABLE PVC/ACRYLIC ALLOY CAPSTOCK

New Product Offers Superior Outdoor Weathering Durability, Great Processing Characteristics in a Full Color Palette

STREETSBORO, OH (March 19, 2015) — Aurora Material Solutions Inc., a leading manufacturer of rigid and foam PVC compounds, has introduced a highly weatherable PVC/acrylic alloy capstock.  The new product is designed to withstand the effects of weathering over the long-term, even in dark colors, offering a highly attractive alternative for a variety of demanding applications such as outdoor trim, windows, decks, siding, fencing, and railing.  It offers superior processing characteristics that, for processors, translate into a more consistent coating, less scrap, a faster startup time and a broader processing window. The new PVC/acrylic alloy capstock will debut at NPE2015 in Orlando March 23-27, 2015 (BOOTH #S15061).

“We identified a need in the market for a more cost-competitive, long-lasting solution,” said Matthew Kuwatch, vice president of marketing and business development for Aurora Material Solutions.  “There are currently many options available, but most of them do not offer the same level of long-term weatherability and resistance to water whitening, especially in the darker colors.  From a processing perspective, our product is easier to handle, resulting in significant bottom-line benefits for our customers.  We believe we have created the ideal solution by combining the proven processing advantages of PVC with the added UV resistance and weatherability of acrylic.”

Designed for use with the company’s cost-effective interior grade RPVC or foam RPVC compounds as substrates, the new pelletized PVC/acrylic alloy capstock compound can be applied thinner than standard RPVC capstock to create an efficient high performance out layer.  The compound colors easily to match any customer need and can also be streaked to replicate the authenticity of wood.  The capstock can also be embossed.

Ideal for use for fencing, siding, decking, arbors/pergolas, windows and doors, the new alloy capstock offers end-users a high-quality, consistent looking product that effectively withstands weather, thereby lasting longer and requiring less maintenance.

“The true value of this new product, however, is that it comes from Aurora Material Solutions, which has a long-standing track record for providing unprecedented lead times, superior customer service and reliable in-field technical support that doesn’t end when the product ships,” said Kuwatch.

With two of the newest ISO 9001:2008 certified production facilities in the industry and an ongoing commitment to investing in new material technology platforms, Aurora Material Solutions continues to lead the industry in innovation, quality and technical support.  Its unparalleled seven-day lead time to shipment additionally means that customers can save costs by maintaining lower inventory levels yet still meet tight production orders.
