STREETSBORO, OH, (November 21, 2016) – Aurora Plastics announced today that they have achieved recertification for ISO 9001:2008 with Design, earning a certificate of approval for their facilities in Streetsboro, Ohio, and Welcome, NC. The ISO certification, which recognizes the company’s customer-focused quality management system, was originally awarded in 2010 and was recertified by Smithers Quality Assessments, an ANAB accredited auditor.
“ISO recertification reinforces one of our company’s hallmarks: attention to the customer’s need for consistent high quality products,” explains Darrell Hughes, chief executive officer. “Recertification was a team effort. The auditors talked to everyone, from engineers and management to our frontline production. Our teams and employees take great pride in delivering the highest quality products for our customers each and every day and it shows in Aurora’s strong track record” says Hughes.
The ISO 9001 certification standards are set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and audited by third-party certification bodies. The external, independent validation is designed to help companies work more efficiently while improving customer satisfaction. Aurora Plastics originally received its designation in just 68 days – a process that typically takes six months to a year. ISO certification demonstrates the quality commitment within Aurora Plastics’ culture.
“For any manufacturing facility, ISO certification shows that the company is following a stringent system for quality in manufacturing, delivering consistent products and working towards continuous improvement,” explains process engineer, Christine Fricker. “For Aurora Plastics customers, our recertification also demonstrates that we’re continuing to do things right and doing them to a standard that assures a quality product”, says Fricker.
Headquartered in Streetsboro, Ohio, Aurora Plastics was founded in 1997, and employs commercial and technical experts, who together have hundreds of years of polymer industry experience. The company is focused on PVC and related blends, and has the two newest ISO 9001:2008 facilities in the industry – offering more than 500 million pounds of blending capacity. Aurora’s state-of-the-art processes and facilities, unparalleled lead times, strict focus on quality, customer service and in-field technical support differentiate the company from other compounders in the industry.
