Aurora Material Solutions Announces Darrell K. Hughes as Chief Executive Officer and Matt D. McDonald as Chief Financial Officer

STREETSBORO, Ohio – (September 20, 2016) – Aurora Material Solutions Inc. (www.auroramaterialsolutions.com), a leading manufacturer of high quality PVC compounds in both powder and pellet form for a variety of plastics applications, announces two appointments to its senior management team, effective September 19, 2016: Darrell K. Hughes to chief executive officer (CEO) and Matt D. McDonald to chief financial officer (CFO).

Hughes will replace Jim Domo as the company’s CEO, who will serve as a special advisor through the end of 2016. Most recently, Hughes served as vice president and general manager of the Avery Dennison North American, pressure sensitive materials business. Prior to that, he worked at GE Plastics, where he held successive positions as general manager of global business development, general manager of the RTV and elastomers business, and president and general manager for specialty film and sheet. Hughes has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Bucknell University and master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

McDonald will join the senior team as CFO, replacing Tony Lamorte, who will retire at year’s end. Prior to joining Aurora Material Solutions, McDonald worked at Qualitor, Inc., where he was vice president and CFO since 2015. McDonald has also been the CFO of several private equity-owned manufacturing businesses, including Citadel Plastics, a former Wind Point Partners’ portfolio company. In his numerous years of financial experience, he has led numerous mergers and acquisitions, financing and operational improvement initiatives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Duke University and a master’s in business administration in finance from the Kenan Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina.
